I thinks, "She's a Howler"

Wow 2 posts in one day. Hope this doesn't mean I won't post again for like a month...
Well like I said in my earlier post, here she is all done, and well, done...
This lil lady was painted in mostly Badger Air Opaque paints, Prisma color pencils, and a bit of Golden airbrush acrylics. All on Mat board.
Now I'M off to Fosters in down town New Haven to enjoy a cool Game dinner with my gal.
Enjoy...

Wow, who knew?

Well I finally had a couple of hours to work on this lil' Lady last evening. And being as how my first appointment isn't till 3pm this afternoon. IM planning on staying in a bit to finish her up. So another post, with the finished piece is imminent, so keep an eye peeled.
But what I really wanna get into is this new airbrush I just got my hands on. Its a Badger "Sotar 20/20". and it is sweet. IM not gonna say its perfect, like other tools in life, and experience. There are little issues I've got with it.
For doing all the little details this bad boy really excels. Fantastic action, great control, and sprains paint with great easy, while maintaing control in the tightest of areas. But (and you know there was gonna be a "but"), When I pull back to spray a slightly larger area, well the control is lost a bit. Spraying becomes a bit wonky, and stuttery (my words by the way). Upon closer inspection of the brush, it seems that the needle gets a bit bouncy, and doesn't properly hold its line when moving back forward, causing a lack of control with the paint flow. IM going to try to remedy this little default my own way. I'll post if it works.
But as far as the little detailing I loved it. A lot of the tight bits done in the face hand, and shirt of the "Howler" (pictured unfinished here), were done with it. Everything else was done with my Badger "Velocity".
Also on another note, with my new Badger. I received a a bunch of Badger air opaque paints. And I must say, Damn they are nice. Great coverability, and fantastic flow. The only difference between these, and my Holbien, and Goldens, is simply the palette. Both have a handful more in the way of colors, and frankly, I've grown accustomed to using them. But I think that I'll have little problem switching over, and incorporating them into my process. And at the moment they look to be mixing well (based on where IM at so far on this piece).
Well IM off to enjoy my morning cup of Joe, and hit the showers, and than the easle. Hope this don't take too long, I'd hate to be late for my client at the tattoo shop.

A lot of Half Done's

And some not even that far along. Thats how I've been feeling lately. You ever get the feeling that your just not getting anything accomplished? Thats kinda how I've been feeling as of late.
I just came from the new Location for Hope Gallery, and building is coming along there, Slowly, but getting there. She's really starting to take shape, and so is my anxiety! Seeing this place coming round, is really starting to freak me out.

Than there's the "Art". Been busy at the shop since getting home, and haven't really felt up to Painting, or drawing when I get home. A symptom I need to remedy ASAP! IM so missing this in my life. I know its only been a couple of weeks since I really had a good amount of time in front of my easle, But IM soooo needing some quality Art Time. Hopefully today, keep an eye peeled for a new post on this lil Lady, I started days ago. Not much time in yet, but soon....

On the bright side, I did get up to Pulse The other day, and we packaged up 36 "BRICKHOUSE" Machines. Check out Brett's Post on his Blog for more on this, and some great snap shots of the day

VIVA LAS VEGAS, BABY!!!

Well not totally. IM not really a "Viva", kinda guy. But IM a pretty big Dean Martin fan, and my lovely wife, and I were married there last year, and it being our anniversary and all....
But I digress. My trip started in Vegas, and was quickly followed by a trip to LA, Hollywood to be exact. Where I did a video shoot for there Tattoo education series. The shoot did not go all that well. Had a bit in the way of problems, in a couple of ways. Not something IM willing to get into  here. You'll just have ta wait for the release.
After hangin with some friends in CA, I was back off ta Las Vegas, ta see my special Lady. All in all, a great time ensued. Topped off with a fantastic show. Yup, finally got ta see Penn, & Teller. Lotta fun, there.
After a couple of more days in the City of Sin (sorta wasted on me ), and some more fun with friends, my lady and I returned from our trip out west.
Now IM back, and roaring to get ta doing some painting. I stopped by Hope this afternoon, and was thrilled to find that my Badger airbrush order came in (thanks Ken). Paints along with a Badger Sotor 20/20. Cannot wait to try this one. The results will follow on here, within days, so keep an eye peeled.
